Etna, Renato D'Agostin

On August 15, 2012 Renato D’Agostin spent two hours on the volcano Etna in Sicily.
The result became the first chapter of Nomadic Editions, a publishing project focused on the single experience as only possibility.
D’Agostin wanted to express what every tourist can experience in an afternoon tour to the volcano. More than being a photographer he wanted to be a tourist again.
D’Agostin’s gaze on the sicilian volcano seems to tell us of an alien place, a lunar landscape where shadows and figures move along ineluctable lines, fumes and mists of Dantesque atmosphere, figures inhabiting a magical world as it is the ancestral volcano, with thousands of symbolic references. A sense of power that seethes beneath the unnatural stillness evolves through the images.
