Unique handmade Goti glasses
In the Venetian dialect, a Goto is a “drinking vessel used at the furnace”. It is also called Venetian Goto or Goto del Doge. Goti were created in the furnaces by the Master glass-blowers when they needed to have a quick drink of water as they toiled. Grabbing the first scraps of coloured glass that came to hand, they crafted a vessel that was unique each and every time. Inspired by D’Agostin’s photographic prints from the Veni Etiam series, Diego Vio, glass-blower Master in Murano, using white and black glass, created a unique series of Goti where shapes move through the glass resembling the dance of light from D’Agostin’s prints of the water reflections in the Venetian lagoon.
