Isabelle Mège: I. Collection 1987-2008

"Isabelle Mège (born in 1965) is not a photographer. Yet it is her work that this book shows: she has contacted, sometimes insistently, dozens of photographers to take her portrait (and this book shows about a hundred of them, most of them nude). And it was she who took things in hand according to a thoughtful, constructed, obsessive approach, in which the photographer, however talented and original, was no more than an instrument at the service of a project greater than himself. With hindsight, these photographers appear to be the simple executors of a programme that goes beyond them”, says Marc Lenot.
