"Winner of the 3rd edition of the PICTO LAB / EXPERIMENTER L'IMAGE residency program, I was able to develop an original project based on light and the tools used to produce images in the darkroom, with the support of the Picto laboratory. The works produced give rise to the De la chambre noire project and are presented as a preview at the Salon Approche from November 9 to 12, 2023. These new productions are in line with my plastic work based on historical processes and the fundamental characteristics that define photography: light, space and time. Over the course of my three-month residency, this new research led me to disrupt the smooth running of the apparatus and to transgress the rules governing the use of the laboratory's industrial tools by modifying some of the established parameters. This reflection also extended to the recording of phenomena and the creation of devices for presenting the work, as a play on the wave and corpuscular nature of light. De la chambre noire is thus inspired by experiments in de-calibrating the color enlarger, the creation of a motif inspired by the optical test pattern, or the observation of the light diffraction prism.
