La Mémoire du futur presents a selection of works from the Musée de l'Elysée collection, set against works by contemporary artists.
Three dialogues emerge from the confrontation of works created by the pioneers of old photographic processes with those of contemporary artists: that of nineteenth- and twentieth-century phototypes with the latest technologies that illuminate them; that of old photographic processes with works by contemporary artists who reappropriate them; and finally, that of works by contemporary artists who question the notion of time or memory.
The book goes on to show the richness and diversity of photographic techniques, highlighting the Museum's collections.
