Nous avons fait un très beau voyage, Laura Serani
Photographies by Jacques Borgetto, Sophie Zénon, Bernard Plossu & Françoise Nuñez

All the photographers gathered here understand travel as it used to be understood. With time in front and space around it, with room to sew the imaginary and the real, far from tourist flows and the syndrome of collecting places.

Jacques Borgetto has been criss-crossing, traveling and photographing Latin America for years, a land to which he belongs, which holds him close and which he restores with strength and precision, a vision not prone to clichés. Sophie Zénon, an avid traveller, has criss-crossed Asia on numerous occasions, notably Mongolia, Far Eastern Siberia and Cambodia, all of which are revisited in her images. With Françoise Nuñez and Bernard Plossu, far from exoticism and as close as possible to poetic language, travel becomes sentimental. Places are merely pretexts and backdrops; the real destination is the other. From Mexico to Italy, from Greece to Andalusia, their gazes, starting from the same point of view, give a stereoscopic vision, where photography is as much a reflection of inner visions as of reality.
