Sauvage matérialité, Jean-Christophe Béchet
Sauvage matérialité, Jean-Christophe Béchet
In the early 2000s, Jean-Christophe Béchet began experimenting with photographic materials. Born of an interest in the accidental in the image, this culminated in a hybridization of silver and digital techniques, the inventive and striking results of which are collected in this book.
Before designing hybrid prints, Béchet began by collecting film primers containing veiled, amputated or erased photos to which he found an unexpected quality. Also including slides and polaroids from the "Accidents" series exhibited at Rencontres d'Arles in 2013, this book revisits two decades of explorations.
The Collector's Edition, each time unique with the random integration of photos on tracing paper, delivered in a canvas box, limited to 30 copies.
